Robotic vacuums have gotten increasingly popular in the last several years, but the WiFi-enabled iRobot Roomba i7+ model takes smart vacuuming to the next level with a dustbin that empties itself. Yep, you read that right.

BUY IT: Amazon, $949 (Originally $1,099)

You won't even have to think about this vacuum for weeks since it automatically empties and recharges at the Clean Base, which holds up to 30 bins of dirt at a time. From pet hair to dirt and dust, this Roomba picks up everything in its path with power-lifting suction that delivers 10x the suction power of Roomba's 600 series. Plus, Amazon reviewers note it makes minimal noise.

The dual multi-surface rubber brushes enables the robot to adjust from hard surfaces to carpet without a hitch. The patented iAdapt 3.0 Navigation with vSLAM technology allows the robot to seamlessly navigate and efficiently clean an entire level of your home without bumping into walls, furniture or other obstacles.

Another unique feature of this model is the Imprint smart mapping system. It allows the vacuum to learn, map and adapt to your home, giving you control of which rooms are cleaned via iRobot HOME app, available for Apple and Android devices, or voice control, compatible with both Alexa and Google Assistant. You can set consistent vacuuming schedules, but if you unexpectedly spill some flour while baking in the kitchen, cleanup is as easy as "Roomba, clean my kitchen." If you prefer the old-fashioned way, just press the "Clean" button on the top instead.

The box comes with one Roomba i7+ vacuum, one Clean Base featuring automatic dirt disposal, two dirt disposal bags, one North American line cord, one dual-mode virtual wall barrier, one extra high-efficiency filter and one extra side brush.

At $949, the price tag after the $150 discount is still not exactly cheap, but this model is as close to automated vacuuming as it gets and has consistently earned positive reviews since debuting last fall. If you want vacuuming to be the easiest, least stressful and least time-consuming chore on your list, it's worth the investment.
