Pressed Clay Ornaments 02:46

Marianne and Brian stamp clay to make textured, vintage-looking ornaments.

Materials Needed

  • quick-dry paper clay
  • wax paper
  • rolling pin
  • toothpick
  • jump rings
  • cookie cutter
  • evergreen sprigs
  • ribbon

Roll Out Clay

Roll the clay into a tight ball and place on wax paper (Image 1). Place another piece of wax paper on top of the ball and press down until flattened. Use a rolling pin to further flatten the clay to about 1/4" thickness. Remove the top layer of wax paper (Image 2).

Cut-Out Ornament

Using a cookie cutter, press down and cut out the ornament. Peel away the excess clay. You'll need to work quickly, as this clay is fast drying.
