This DIY wine-cork decor has two sides so you can keep it up from fall through winter.
- bag of used wine corks (about 40)
- hot glue gun + sticks
- plastic cup for hat
- orange acrylic paint
- white acrylic paint
- round foam paintbrush
- seasonal ribbon
- matte black spray paint
- black felt sheet
- red ribbon
- oil-based paint pen
- utility knife
Glue corks together side-by-side — glue two rows of four, five and six corks and one row of seven corks. Stack the cork rows to create a pumpkin shape: four, five, six, seven, six, five and four. Hot glue the rows together.
To create a pumpkin stem, wrap a single cork with twine and secure with hot glue. Place the wrapped cork on top of the cork stack and secure it with hot glue at an angle.
On one side, paint cork ends randomly with orange acrylic paint using a foam brush. Wipe away any excess. On the other side, paint all corks with white acrylic paint using a foam brush, and wipe away the excess.
Make Top Hat + Face
Apply black matte spray paint to coat a plastic cup. Once dry, glue the open end of the cup to a slightly larger piece of circular black felt (This is the hat's rim). Wrap a red ribbon around the hat. and secure with hot glue. Cut a slit in the felt using a utility knife large enough for the pumpkin stem. Create the snowman’s face by cutting out a set of eyes and a mouth from black felt. Attach with hot glue. Paint the nose with orange acrylic paint, and apply white paint to add sparkle to the eyes.
Decorate and Display
In autumn, dress this charming pumpkin with a fall-tastic seasonal bow. Once the weather turns cold, trade the bow for a top hat and turn it around to reveal a snowman.
