St. Patrick's Day Craft: DIY Painted Rocks
Painting (sham)rocks is an easy, kid-friendly way to add a little luck to your garden for St. Patrick's Day.


Crafting a treasure hunt for the kids in the garden is an easy way to get them outdoors and exploring. A few of these magical, painted rocks make for fun and easy treasures. These sham"rocks" are simple to create and they make a wonderful family project and small gifts for children's friends. Here are the supplies you need to get started:
Supplies:
- Newspaper
- Small, flat rocks
- Green paint
- Gold paint or liquid gilding paint
- Small paintbrushes
Get Painting

Paint each rock green. Allow the rocks to dry completely, then flip them over and paint the backs.
Make the Shamrock

With gold paint, start with two adjacent circles and then add another circle on the top and one on the bottom. Be sure all four circles are joined together and then add a stem.
Hide and Seek

Once your painted stones are completely dry, bring them outside and hide them throughout the garden.
