Peppermint Stripe Christmas Centerpiece
Easily create a sweet centerpiece to add sparkle to your holiday table.

This project is part of HGTV's eight easy Christmas crafts to create.
Materials and Tools:
white chipboard, card stock or other heavy-duty paper
round items to use as pattern
red craft paint
paintbrush
clear crystal glitter
spray adhesive
small wooden dowels or skewers
kitchen shears or craft knife
clear tape
hot glue gun and glue sticks
candy-striped wired ribbon
Steps:
- Trace assorted sizes of glassware or small plates onto rigid paper and cut out.
- Draw concentric circles or swirling pattern onto paper circles with pencil. Fill in pattern with red craft paint to create peppermint look.
- Once craft paint has thoroughly dried, cover painted surface with spray adhesive. Sprinkle a dusting of clear crystal glitter onto wet glue and set aside for a few minutes to allow glue to dry.
- Cut wooden dowels or skewers to various lengths with kitchen shears and attach to the back of each circle with tape or a dab of hot glue. Finally, add finished candies to a vase to create a centerpiece and embellish with a peppermint-striped ribbon.
