Gather your supplies (Image 1).

Debbie Wolfe
Measure 7 inches down from the end of one piece of plywood, and mark the center point of the board’s width. Mark a line from the center point to one edge of the board. Measure 3/8 inch below the first line and mark a second line parallel to it (Image 2).

Debbie Wolfe
Use a 3/8 inch drill bit to drill a hole at the center point end, between the 2 lines, being careful to keep the outer edge of the bit in line with the center point (Image 3).

Debbie Wolfe
Use a jigsaw to square the center point end, then saw along the marked lines to cut out a 3/8 inch slot to the center point. Sand the rough edges smooth with 80 grit sandpaper. Repeat the process to cut out a 3/8 inch slot in the second piece of plywood and sand it smooth. Slide the two slots into one another to form the tent (Image 4).

Debbie Wolfe
Cut the carpet remnant to fit one side of the tent. Add a generous layer of hot glue to the underside of the carpet remnant. Glue the carpet to one side of the tent (Image 1).

Debbie Wolfe
Next, snake the rope to the other side of the tent. Secure it with glue (Image 2).

Attach a dangling toy and let your cat test it out (Image 3).
