Last-minute and adjustable? This no-sew waist apron makes a wonderful party favor, hostess gift or a new accessory for yourself. Select a couple yards of fun, complementing fabrics that fit for the occasion.

Materials

  • (1) yard designer fabric
  • (1/2) yard chambray fabric
  • (2) yards ribbon
  • fabric scissors
  • tape measure
  • iron-on adhesive tape
  • iron
  • pins

Cut Fabric

Wash, dry and iron the fabric (Image 1). Cut the base of the apron fabric to measure 14″x27″ (size fits most) or cut to your preference (Image 2).

Hem Edges

Place the fabric print-side down, then place and pin the adhesive tape along the bottom edge (Image 1). Fold the bottom edge of fabric and iron to adhere (Image 2). Repeat these steps for the left and right sides (Image 3).

Attach Ribbon Waistband

Measure ribbon so it is long enough to wrap around your waist twice. Add extra length to account for tying. Place adhesive tape along the front of the apron waistband (Image 1). Center your ribbon so you have equal length on each side of the apron (Image 2). Use an iron to adhere the ribbon to the apron.

Attach Pocket

Cut out a rectangle in a contrasting fabric for the pocket, approximately 6”x14”. Repeat the steps you took to adhere the edges of the apron for the pocket fabric (Images 1 and 2). Leave the top open to create a pocket (Image 3).
