DIY Rustic Kissing Ball
Snip some greenery from your yard and garden and create a lovely kissing ball to welcome guests to your home for the holidays.
Gather Your Supplies
You will need: assorted greenery / garden clippers / 4-inch round foam floral ball / 24 gauge floral wire / ribbon / scissors / wired glass balls / pinecones / wire cutters / newspaper
Start at the Top
To make the ribbon hanger, cut a 2 1/2 foot strand of ribbon and loop it as seen in the photo.
Wire It Together
Cut a 16-inch piece of floral wire, fold it in half and tightly wrap it around the wire.
Wire the Ball
Push the bow's wires through the floral foam ball and wrap the ends around the ball. Cut another length of wire, anchor it to the bow's wire and then wrap that around the ball as well for extra strength.
Bottom Ribbon
Cut a 4-foot length of ribbon. Fold it in half and then fold it in half again. Cut a 10-inch piece of wire and then wrap that around the ribbon. Cut the bottoms of the ribbon open. You should now have 4 strands of ribbon. Push it into the bottom of the kissing ball.
Add Greenery
With garden clippers, cut 6-inch lengths of greenery and push them into the floral foam.
Check for Bare Spots
Fill the entire floral foam ball with greenery. You can trim the edges of the greenery with scissors to shape the ball if necessary.
Add Pinecones
Wrap 8-inch lengths of wire around the pinecones and randomly insert them into the kissing ball.
Final Bling
Tuck in the wired glass balls as desired. Gently water the arrangement and then hang it in place.
