Materials Needed:

  • roller shade (with wood roller)
  • wallpaper
  • scissors
  • staple gun
  • cloth tape

Step 1

Tear off the entire vinyl shade from its wood roller and slide out the bottom rail.

Step 2

Use the shade as a template to cut a new rectangle out of the wallpaper, adding 1 1/2 inches in length.

Step 3

Attach one end of the wallpaper to the roller with a staple gun (make sure to use a shade with a wood roller so you can staple into it).

Step 4

Fold the other end of the wallpaper under 1 1/2 inches to form a pocket, securing it with cloth tape (the kind used for first aid works well).

Step 5

Slide the bottom rail in the pocket and attach a ring pull to the back. The weight of the rail will keep the shade hanging straight.
