Materials Needed:
- 1-2 yards HGTV HOME or other desired fabric
- medium Styrofoam sphere
- straight pins
- wooden dowel
- Spanish moss
- terra cotta pot
- floral foam piece
- paint (optional)
Paint Foam Sphere, Pot and Wooden Dowel
Paint the wooden dowel and terra cotta pot if desired. Paint the Styrofoam sphere a dark color so it better blends with your chosen fabric. Let dry.
Cut and Fold Fabric Squares
Cut fabric into 2-inch square pieces (image 1). Depending on your fabric, you may need to apply no-fray spray before cutting. Fold each square piece in half (image 2), and in half again to create a flower petal effect (image 3).

Attach Fabric to Sphere
Stick the pin through the bottom point of the fabric petal in each folded fabric square, and pin to sphere. Pin the squares on the sphere, slightly overlapping each piece until the entire sphere is covered (images 1 and 2). Fluff fabric to get your desired look.

Assemble Topiary
Glue floral foam to the inside of the pot. Stick wooden dowel in the sphere and stick the other end of the dowel into the floral foam.

Add Finishing Touches
Place Spanish moss or other greenery in the pot to cover the floral foam. Display on your mantel or table (images 1 and 2).
