How to Make a Bohemian Tassel Necklace

Materials Needed
embroidery thread in 3 colors of your choice
necklace cord
assorted jewelry (bells, beads, shells, etc.)
small metal rings
scissors
jewelry pliers
Cut Embroidery Thread
Cut a whole skein of embroidery thread in half, and unfold both halves. Put the embroidery thread through a small metal ring, placing the ring in the center of the thread.

Create Tassel
Fold the thread in half with the ring in the bend. Tie another color of thread underneath the ring. Wrap it around a few times and tie again. Trim the extra ends to make it even. Make all of the tassels for your necklace.

Add Accessories
Lay out your necklace on a flat surface to see how you want it to look. Experiment with different beads, shells and tassel sizes. Thread everything that will be at the center of your necklace first. I used two tassels, two bells and two shells. To keep all of these from moving around on your necklace, bring both ends of the cord up through one bead. This bead will hold everything in place.

Knot Cord
To add a tassel to the side, knot the necklace cord where you want the tassel to lay. Then, thread the tassel onto the cord through the small metal ring.
Finish Necklace
Tie the ends of the cord together to finish your necklace. You can always untie and adjust the length.
