How to Make a Bird and Branch Holiday Card

Materials Needed:
- blank white 5" x 7" card
- 1 piece of red scrapbook paper
- 1 piece of white card stock
- pinecone
- scissors
- pencil
- ruler
- computer and printer
- bird graphic
- wrinkle-free glue stick
- all-purpose craft glue
- silver and red glitter
Cut Graphic
Scale bird graphic to 4" x 6", then print and cut out. Measure and cut red scrapbook paper to 4" x 6". Glue scrapbook paper to the center front of blank card with wrinkle-free glue. Attach bird in same manner. Tip: Free printable graphics can be found on the Internet or on a calendar, paper plate, thick wrapping paper or Christmas card.

Make Branch
Use fingers to break scales from pinecone (Image 1). Apply craft glue to red rectangle where branch would be in relation to perched bird (Image 2). Stick pinecone scales onto glue to form a branch (Image 3). Tip: Scales can be split in half with scissors, if necessary.

Add Greeting and Glitter
Play around with different fonts on your computer to create an elegant holiday greeting; print and cut out using a small bottle or drinking glass as a circular template. Affix the greeting to card with wrinkle-free glue (Image 1). Apply craft glue around greeting cut-out and border of red paper. Sprinkle card with glitter and shake off excess. Allow glue to dry fully before inserting card in envelope (Image 2).
