How-to: DIY Triangle-Print Doormat

David A. Land (Styled by Elizabeth Demos)

Materials Needed
- coir doormat
- painter's tape
- newspaper
- spray paint, 5 different colors
Instructions
1. Starting at the bottom left of a coir doormat, tape off triangles using painter’s tape. On a 24” x 36” doormat, we taped off 21 triangles, each measuring 8” x 8” x 8”. Note: You’ll have three partial triangles along the right and left edges of the doormat.
2. Place the doormat on newspaper in a well-ventilated area. Spray-paint the triangles randomly using five different colors. (We used Satin Ballet Slipper, Matte Surf, Gloss Bright Idea, Gloss Pumpkin Orange, and Gloss Classic Gray, all by Krylon.) Remove the painter’s tape. Let dry.
