Materials Needed:
- 5-liter, 8.5” glass flask
- flask stand
- Edison light bulb, 30 watt
- 10” glass plate
Purchase Supplies
Purchase a 5-liter glass flask and flask stand at www.onlinesciencemall.com and a 30-watt Edison light bulb at 1000bulbs.com (S21 Edison Style). You can find a 10” glass plate online at anchorhocking.oneida.com.
Go to Your Local Glass Store
Ask them to cut a 4” inch round hole into the bottom of your flask, large enough so your light bulb will fit through the opening.
Visit a Lighting Expert
Have the flask wired at your local lighting store. Consider a dimmer switch so you can adjust the lighting.
Insert Bulb
Slip the wire and bulb into the flask's bottom hole, and then feed the wire through the mouth of the flask.
Attach Flask to Stand
Attach the flask to top ring on the stand. Rest the 10” round plate on the bottom ring of the stand for a finished look. Plug it in.
