Craft These Holiday Hedgehogs
Add a touch of whimsy to your holiday decor with these pinecone hedgehogs crafted entirely from natural materials.
Gather Your Supplies
For this craft, you will need: 3 pinecones /birch bark /eucalyptus pods /peppercorns (optional) /sharp scissors /hot glue gun and glue
Start with the Nose
Begin by cutting the bark into a half moon shape.
Create a Cone
Roll the bark into a shape like so. Be sure it is wide enough to fit on the front of the pinecone. Leave a small opening on the tip for the nose too.
Glue it Together
Hot glue the cone together to look like so.
A Eucalyptus Nose
Glue a eucalyptus pod into the hole in the tip of the cone.
Make the Ears
Cut a bark circle approximately 1 1/2 inches round. Cut a slit to the center of the circle. At the slit, curl the circle onto itself and hot glue it into place like so. Repeat the process to form the second ear.
Embellish the Pinecone
Hot glue the nose and ears into place on the pinecone like so.
Peppercorn Eyes
If you'd like to add some eyes, might I suggest peppercorns.
