Handmade Bejeweled Mirror
Donna Moss demonstrates a creative way to repurpose costume jewelry, fashioning a decorative custom mirror that's ideal for the room of that special little girl.

Materials Needed:
- mirror or picture frame
- clear quick-drying glue
- costume jewelry
Select Jewelry
Collect old brooches, earrings and other costume jewelry you may have around the house (Images 1 and 2). You can also often find inexpensive costume jewelry at garage and estate sales.

Apply Glue
To attach the jewelry, apply quick-drying clear glue to the back of pieces.

Attach Pieces
Attach the pieces individually to the frame or edges of the mirror (Image 1). Heavily layer the jewelry around the edges (Image 2). Mix and match the colors and shapes in any way that appeals to you. Once you're done, you will have created a one-of-a-kind craftwork piece that almost any little girl will love.

Another Option: A Bejeweled Picture Frame
This technique is also good for decorating picture frames. Simply follow the same steps to attach jewelry pieces to a picture frame.
