Let your Valentine know they’re number one with these playful DIY pennant flags. Use them to shout your love, or simply pin to a wall for permanent display.

These pennants are sweet enough to give you a cavity and guaranteed to brighten up any area in your home for the entire month of February.

Materials Needed:
- 12x18" felt sheet
- scissors
- ruler
- hot glue gun and sticks
- felt adhesive alphabet letters
- decorative straws
- wood skewers
Cut Flag Shapes
Cut out a small triangular flag shape using scissors and a ruler (Image 1). Measure the length of the flag base, and cut a contrasting piece of felt the same length, 1” wide (Image 2). Arrange the alphabet letters to spell out a message (Image 3), and cut a heart shape from the felt if desired. Adhere message to the flag with hot glue. Let dry completely.

Attach to Straw
Place a wooden skewer through a decorative straw. Align the contrasting felt with the base of the flag, and place the skewer (decorative straw below the flag) in the center. Attach to the center of the felt strip with hot glue (Image 1), and attach the felted straw to the base of the flag. Fold the strip in half long ways, and glue to the other side of the flag (Image 2). Trim the excess felt off from the top.
