Materials and Tools:

table saw
tape measure
pin-nail gun and pin nails
hot-glue gun and glue sticks
scissors
hammer
metal spackle knife
miter saw
sanding block
clean rags
screw gun and screws
drill
1/4-inch sheet of melamine (plastic coated Masonite or press board)
scrap wood
silicone spray
bamboo fencing
one box of bar coat resin (two-part epoxy glaze coat)
1x2 pieces of reclaimed lumber
120-grit sand paper
stain (ours was Minwax brand, oil-based, Provencial 211)
gold chain link
two cup hooks

Steps:

1. Using a table saw, cut a mold out of melamine to the desired dimensions of your screen. Frame it with scrap wood securing it with a pin nails.

3. Spray the mold’s interior generously with the silicone lubricant.

4. Use scissors to snip the wire holding the bamboo fencing together and disassemble the individual reeds. Then lay individual pieces of bamboo reed lengthwise into the bottom of the mold.

5. Mix the resin according to manufacturer's directions and pour over the encased bamboo reeds.

Wait for resin to dry completely. Use a hammer and metal spackle knife to break the sides of the mold away from the newly-formed hardened panel. Separate the panel from the bottom of the mold using the thin metal spackle knife.

7. With a miter saw, cut two pieces of the reclaimed wood to the width of the panel. Lightly sand the edges. Then, stain the wood with a clean rag wiping away any excess and allow it to dry.

8. Sandwich the top of the divider between the two pieces of wood and screw them together.

9. Attach the chain link to the screen by drilling holes through the top corners of the wood and running the chain through them. Twist cup hooks into the ceiling to hang the screen divider.
