Sophisticated Wedding Arbor

Transform a plain arbor into a sophisticated reception area with sheer, lightweight curtains.

Materials and Tools:

lightweight curtain panels
tension curtain rods (or use recycled curtain rods or inexpensive wooden dowels)
pencil
handsaw
hammer
finishing nails, if using recycled curtain rods or dowels
staple gun
safety goggles, if using recycled curtain rods or dowels

Steps:

1. Place the tension rod through the curtain panel. If using recycled rods or wooden dowels, measure the space between the beams or posts where they'll hang to arrive at the required length. Mark the rods/dowels with pencil and use a handsaw to cut to proper size. Remember to wear safety goggles.

2. Place the curtain rod between two beams or posts. While a tension rod allows for effortless application, recycled rods and dowels are easily secured using a finishing nail or two at the end of each rod.

3. To add softness to the ceiling area, hang panels at four corner posts and gather ends to center of arbor ceiling. Secure with staples and tie in a knot or bow.

4. For a billowy look, bunch the curtain fabric and tie in a knot. For a more casual feeling, let the curtains flow freely.
