Serve Bite-Sized Snacks
Mini tea sandwiches are a go-to snack for a tea party. My favorite recipe is a few slices of cucumber and vegetable cream cheese on white bread. Cut into triangles for bite-sized snacking.
Offer French Macarons
You’ll definitely need French macarons. Made with almond flower, they are gluten free and delicious. I like to choose my macarons based on color to match them to the decor. For a party based on roses, I went with red, pink, light green and a pretty speckled ivory.
Make a Pot of Tea
Brew a pot of English Breakfast tea for your guests. Serve in a feminine tea pot covered in flowers. Tea cups with matching saucers, also in a floral print, let your guests have a true experience of an English tea party.
Embellish Mini Cupcakes
Besides the macarons, keep the rest of the desserts miniature as well. Mini store-bought cupcakes are appropriately decorated for the party by placing a cut spray rose on top of each one.
Stack Sweets on a Stand
Miniature cream puffs, piled high on a three tier ceramic stand, look pretty next to French macarons and accents of fresh roses.
Beautify a Store-Bought Cake
Search your grocery store baking section for a mini cake with white icing. Style the cake on a small cake stand. Create a quick DIY cake topper by sticking roses and baby’s breath right into the cake for a beautiful way to update an inexpensive store-bought cake.
Bring Out the Fancy Dishes
English tea parties evoke a very feminine and pretty aesthetic. Keep that going through the use of floral china, girly tea pots and ornate three-tier stands for the mini snacks.
Make a DIY Table Runner
That table runner? It’s rose-printed wrapping paper. Create more texture and layers by placing a few pretty doilies under your tea cups.
Craft a Charming Banner
Cut the rose wrapping paper into a long banner. Use your best cursive handwriting to write a sweet welcome message to the soon-to-be newborn baby. Hang on the wall with glue dots right above your floral garland. Learn to make this show-stopping rose garland here.
Decorate With Fresh Roses
With fresh roses decorating the stands, the cake, the table, and even hanging on the wall, your party is sure to have a lovely scent as well.
Make DIY Rose Body Scrub
Make your own rose body scrub to give as favors. Mix together equal parts coarse sea salt and almond oil. Stir in two tablespoons of dried rose petals.
Hand Out Favors
Gift the favors in small canning jars with white plastic lids. To make the favors extra special, wrap a vintage floral ribbon around each lid and secure with hot glue.
