Ingredients

Makes 6 waffles

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 4 tsps. baking powder
  • 3 eggs (divided)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tsps. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Preparation

Separate egg whites from egg yolks into two small bowls.

Whip egg whites using hand mixer, then set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder.

Combine ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

In a medium mixing bowl, mix egg yolks, milk, vanilla and melted butter.

Gradually add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Use a hand mixer to blend.

Gently fold whipped egg whites into batter.

Bake in a preheated waffle iron, according to directions.

Finish with your favorite toppings.
