  • coconut extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened, finely-shredded coconut (available in the bulk foods aisle)
  • standard 16-well ice cube tray
  • silver teaspoons
  • cellophane lollipop bags
  • 8.5"x11" white cardstock
  • colorful striped ribbon

Create the Chocolate Spoons

Start with a standard, 16-well ice cube tray. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the coconut shavings evenly among the wells. Melt the chocolate chips and combine with a few drops of coconut extract.

Fill each ice cube tray space with the melted chocolate. Sprinkle the remaining coconut shavings over the top of the melted chocolate.

Stick a silver teaspoon into each one and hold until the chocolate sets a bit. Place in the refrigerator until the chocolate is completely set.

Package and Present

Download and print the hot chocolate tags onto the white cardstock. Cut out the tags and punch a hole in the corner of each. Place each hot chocolate spoon in a cellophane bag. Tie the tags on with the colorful ribbon of your choice. Each spoon will flavor 8 ounces of steamy milk.
