Ingredients

Makes enough for 8-10 hot dogs.

  • 2 tbs. cooking oil
  • 4 large onions, sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tsp. ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. hot sauce

Preparation

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onions, season with salt and cook for 6-7 minutes, or until softened but not browned. Reduce heat to medium-low and add ketchup, cayenne, cinnamon and hot sauce. Continue to cook for 30-45 minutes, or until onions are completely softened. Serve warm.
