With a contemporary Austin farmhouse style, this simple home is as stylish as it is efficient. “It’s intended to be a very contemporary landscape,” explains the house planner Jack Thomasson. “It feels very contemporary, clean and simple.”
A great mix of patterns and textures comes together to create one cohesive, stylish space. “The living room is very subtle,” explains HGTV Smart Home 2015 designer Linda Woodrum. “It’s more about the textures and the subtle variations that wrap all around the room.”
To make this charming kitchen as functional as possible, interior designer Linda Woodrum opted for a triangle-style workspace. “When I think of smart design, I think of wisely designing a home that functions well on a high level, so that’s what Kelly Mockingbird, the design coordinator, and I tried to do through this whole process,” explains Linda. “It works well. Everything is in that small triangle, and it’s just very usable and functional.”
With sloping ceilings that reach 10 feet at their peak, this neutral master bedroom feels open and spacious. Walls painted Snowbound by Sherwin Williams reflect light and add to the room’s airy design.
