Welcome Inside

The walls of the entry were painted a crisp white that keeps things light and bright, in this welcoming space, which sets the scene for this picturesque coastal home. The well-designed entry also provides a preview of the spectacular views ahead.

Hide the Clutter

Having storage by the front door helps keep the entry attractive and clean. “We have a large oversized dresser that’s used to house all the things you need that you don’t want people to see when you come in and out of the house,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.

Rustic Yet Refined

Rustic wood floors reflect light throughout the space and keep things feeling bright and open.

Casual Connection

A casual seating area incorporating natural textures and pops of blue anchors the great room and provides space to connect with family and friends.

Ideal Location

The open dining room enjoys an ideal location off the kitchen and just steps away from the great room, with lots of natural light thanks to large windows and the glass doors that lead to the screened-in back porch.

Take Center Stage

The round pedestal table with a weathered base and wood top sits center stage in the dining room. A coastal-style, hand-woven area rug with different shades of white and sky-blue adds pattern and softness underneath the dining table.

Dine in Style

This view from the kitchen shows the close proximity of the open dining room, which makes it easy to bring prepared dishes straight to the table for at-home meals with family and friends.

Space to Gather

The spacious, open floor plan of the kitchen provides plenty of seating and makes it easy to entertain a crowd. Island seating means guests can hang out while dinner is prepped, and wood cabinets in a soft finish keep the space feeling calm and organized.

Sit in Style

Plush stools with a curved back at the island provide comfortable seating for casual meals or visiting with the cook preparing the meal of the day.

Strategic Location

The strategic location of this super functional laundry room and mudroom allows you to get from the detached garage to the back of the house, without having to enter the rest of the home.

Natural Rug

A round woven rug in a natural tone helps define the seating area and adds warmth under the pedestal table.

Island Escape

The most “island” room in the home, this guest bedroom offers an enticing space for sleeping, watching TV, or just enjoying views of the marsh and this spectacular coastal property.

Space to Sit

The guest bedroom’s inviting seating area includes a brown end table with carved details and hand-turned columns, paired with classic style armchairs with hand-woven rush seats. Guests can sit by the windows to catch up on reading, or enjoy outside views. A green cable knit plush throw blanket on one of the chairs adds extra coziness.

Lovely Niche

A niche in guest bedroom one includes a whitewashed cabinet with a large smart TV above for catching up on your favorite HGTV shows. Tall potted palms frame each side of the classic-style cabinet.

Cozy and Comfortable Seating

A three-seater sofa and two deep arm chairs provide comfortable seating in the multipurpose room, a flexible space that can be used for a variety of activities like watching an awards show, the big game, or your favorite HGTV special.

Distinctive Look

The guest bedroom at HGTV Dream Home 2020 has its own distinctive look with luxurious design details. “It’s very calm, cool and collected,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.

Sit and Relax

The inviting seating area includes two rattan wicker lounge chairs with a camel back and rounded arms, and a blue-and-white striped side table for resting a drink or displaying a touch of greenery.

Ample Storage

A six-drawer double dresser with a clean-lined silhouette, natural gray finish and two angled metal legs provides ample storage for bedroom essentials. A rope picture frame on top of the dresser fits with the home’s coastal vibe.

Choice of Activities

The upstairs landing includes framed wall art and an area rug hung on the wall with a hanging mechanism that designer Brian Patrick Flynn and his team created. The rug ties together all the different colors used for this part of the home. Visitors can gather around the table to share a drink and conversation, or play at the nearby outdoor/indoor foosball table.

Classic Island Retreat

Pure white walls pop against tones of muted coral in this classic, island-style master bedroom.

Modern Amenities

A 60-inch flat-panel television is mounted above an island-style wooden dresser bringing entertainment into the space at any time.

Open-Air Bedroom

A screened-in porch off the master bedroom means you can sleep with the doors open to the porch without worrying about nighttime mosquito bites.
