Island Escape

The most “island” room in the home, this guest bedroom offers an enticing space for sleeping, watching TV, or just enjoying views of the marsh and this spectacular coastal property.

Statement Bed

This focal-point upholstered wingback standard bed with palm-leaf pattern sits center stage in this island-style guest bedroom, with a solid wood frame.

Bedside Storage

Beautiful three-drawer chests on each side of the upholstered bed act as nightstands, with a texture of woven raffia that offers a whitewashed cane look.

Sea Coral Art

The sea coral wall decor set above the bed reinforces the island theme of the guest bedroom, heavily textured to mimic live sea coral with an antiqued white finish.

TV in Bed

A woven round tray gives a place to rest the TV remote, for those leisurely mornings watching HGTV from bed. The bed includes premium 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets that encourage lounging around.

Added Comfort

Assorted pillows and a duvet cover add comfort and coziness on the top of the bed. “The bedding is all different shades of white and green and yellow, like you’d find in a palm tree,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.

Coordinated Colors

The palm-inspired green walls of the guest bedroom that designer Brian Patrick Flynn describes as very bohemian coordinate with the different shades of green used for the upholstered wingback bed. The deep shade of green on the walls can also be found in the garden entry of the home.

Vintage Vibe

Ceramic table lamps on the nightstands have a cutaway accent that creates a vintage vibe. This nightstand also includes a potted palm plant by the lamp that fits with the island theme of this well-detailed space.

Natural Beauty

A durable hand-woven brown jute and sisal area rug over the engineered hardwood floor with distressed textures helps define the sleeping area.

Industrial-Style Fan

An industrial-style ceiling fan keeps the guest bedroom cool on warm nights, with manufactured wood blades with a weathered oak finish that look like palm fronds when moving.

Space to Sit

The guest bedroom’s inviting seating area includes a brown end table with carved details and hand-turned columns, paired with classic style armchairs with hand-woven rush seats. Guests can sit by the windows to catch up on reading, or enjoy outside views. A green cable knit plush throw blanket on one of the chairs adds extra coziness.

Privacy Please

The bedroom’s oversized windows include relaxed Roman shades that offer privacy and less natural light when desired.

Seashell Mirrors

A trio of round mirrors outlined in seashells decorate the wall between the seating area and the large whitewashed cabinet that adds extra storage space to the bedroom.

Handsome Floor

Like other spaces on the second floor of this coastal retreat, this guest bedroom includes an engineered hardwood floor with distressed textures that add character to this space with wonderful natural light. “This bedroom specifically has a really beautiful view of the pool and marsh out back,” says build manager Scott Branscom. “What we tried to do with all the living spaces was give them a great view.”

Lovely Niche

A niche in guest bedroom one includes a whitewashed cabinet with a large smart TV above for catching up on your favorite HGTV shows. Tall potted palms frame each side of the classic-style cabinet.

Home Entertainment

The bedroom’s large 55-inch flat screen offers the latest in-home entertainment, making relaxing in bed very appealing.

Local Flavor

A framed vintage map from the early 1940s of Hilton Head Island was used on one of the walls as distinctive art that gives this guest bedroom more local flavor.

Island Textures

Woven wall art and a wicker pot planter bring in some of the coastal and island textures to this well-appointed second floor guest bedroom.

Spacious Closet

This guest bedroom includes a large walk-in closet with a coastal-style dresser in a whitewashed wood tone that offers handy storage for accessories, folded sweaters and more.

Efficient and Organized

The efficient walk-in closet includes a hanging rod for shirts, jackets and other clothing items, with rubberized non-slip wood suit hangers that keep clothes looking their best. The upper shelf above the rod and the closet floor both include various rattan and woven storage baskets for grouping smaller items together, to help the closet stay free from clutter.
