Mediterranean Foyer With Black Floor

The dark wood front door is original to this home, but a modern surprise waits in the foyer: a bold graphic floor in black and white. The zippy pattern instantly sets a fun, zippy tone upon walking into the house!

Country Foyer With Pew

A jury pew was the design jumping-off point for this entry. A rolling console table, red rug and red star art add to the friendly, farmhouse theme.

Contemporary Stairs With Black Railing

Blonde wood stairs get a clear railing trimmed in black. It's a striking way to dress up the functional space.

Bench Seating with Wood Paneling

A wasted space beside the stairs is made useful by adding a bench with fluffy pillows. Light wood paneling adds detail and complements the handrail. Artwork is also displayed.

Open Plan Dining Area and Wine Room

Although a staircase sits out in the open in the home's main living area, the clear railing makes it fade into the background. Behind it, a wine room becomes a striking part of the decor.

Contemporary Foyer with Curved Staircase

A contemporary center table highlights the curves of this contemporary entryway. Soft, neutral hues dominate the space, which is layered with accessories and special touches that add visual interest. Modern sconces echo the lines in the modern stair rails.

Neutral, Modern Stairway with Curved Design

Sweeping lines define this modern staircase, which features pale wood steps that match the curving wood hand rail. The stairway's steel rails and blond hues are repeated in an artful modern sconce, while a patterned contemporary runner adds style and function underfoot.

Modern Loft Dining Area with Oak Table and Eames Chairs

This modern loft dining area features a white oak table with Eames chairs juxtaposed with matte black walls, exposed brick and reclaimed wood throughout.

Contemporary Floating Staircase with Glass Rail

A floating staircase in pale natural wood tones adds design distinction to this waterfront contemporary home in Newport Beach, California. A glass railing extends down to become a glass wall, adding both function and style. White-painted walls create an open and airy vibe that continues throughout the home.

Open Concept Great Room With Striped Pillow

Accessories continue the bright color scheme started by the kitchen backsplash out into the living area. The room's two-story high ceiling makes the entire space feel so light and bright.

White Kitchen With Copper Pots

Cooking is centered on one side of this simple, pretty kitchen with the stove and storage for cooking supplies. The other side is dedicated to cleaning with the sink, dishwasher and storage for larger pieces like platters and other serving ware.

Industrial Staircase With a Rustic Twist

A contemporary-yet-rustic staircase leads to the second floor of the home while a floor-to-ceiling window wall offers unobstructed views for days. Black metal lanterns hang on nautical rope for a unique chandelier in the entryway.

Coastal Entry with Shiplap Walls

By simply changing the millwork, this entry and stair space got a huge refresh. Shiplap walls greet visitors to an immediate ‘by the water’ feel. That combined with the watery painting featuring bold turquoises and greens (that reminded designers of lily pads) drives home the coastal feel. A LED light in the glass ball on the newel post is set to a photocell - so it comes on each night when it gets dark!

Entryway Features Two Design Styles

The wow-worthy entryway is made up of two key design styles - rustic and contemporary. The industrial-inspired staircase is accented with wooden railings for a flawless combination of both styles.

Stairs with Glass Lighting

A cascade of hand blown glass lighting really fills up the tall vertical space and looks magical in the evening. The glass ball on the newel post was outfitted with an LED light and comes on each night when it gets dark. This stair design is appropriately scaled to the space and makes excellent use of the natural light.

White Stairs and Cow Art

The staircase takes its visual cues from a milk crate with its white, wood slat railing. Although the design was complicated in its execution, the finished result is refreshingly simple.

Curved Stairs and Art Deco Table

In the main hall, a curved staircase cuts an elegant figure, its geometric railing leaping out against the wall's white paneling.

Rustic Chic Fireplace Between Floors

This stunning cabin features a unique feature, a natural fireplace between floors. Guests will enjoy the warmth of the large rock hearth as they venture up the wooden and metal staircase to the balcony.

Spiral Stairs and Black Tile Floor

Trips up and down these spiral stairs have all the exotic style of a Moroccan escape with the stair's light-colored wood in bold contrast to the graphic floor.

Staircase With Ferris Wheel Mural

All the neon brilliance of Balboa's boardwalk fills the stairwell. The amazing mural was custom made for the space and instantly infuses the home with modern retro nostalgia.

Blue Coastal Staircase

Wave blue paint and surf lyrics give this staircase tons of beachy appeal.

Deck With Vertical Garden

An urban lower level deck gets wild with a vertical garden in sculptural shapes.

Open, Airy Downtown High-Rise

This modern apartment features an open concept plan that connects the kitchen and dining area. The crisp white and cool gray concrete creates a chic yet airy atmosphere. Even the stairs feature a floating design with glass siding as to not clutter the space or block the city views
