Before + Afters: Bright White Master Bedroom

Funky light fixtures, off-white walls and light wood floors all made this master bedroom look far too dark and dated for its young owners. To spruce the suite up, designer Kelly Rogers painted the walls a bright shade of white and then layered in colorful, patterned accents that capture her clients' hip sense of style.

Outdated Master Bedroom With Good Bones

Though this master suite in Sherborn, Mass., has great bones, the funky light fixture, off-white walls and light wood floors all make the space feel too dated for a young couple. After remodeling the first floor, designer Kelly Rogers was asked to update this room as well.

Hallway Showcases Colorful Art Collection

Crisp white walls instantly breathe life back into this master bedroom, making the space feel fresh for its youthful owners. Vibrant artwork decorates the hallway outside and offers a glimpse of the fun color palette that's to come.

Corner Fireplace Hidden Behind Work Station

In addition to crown molding and beautiful bay windows, this master suite has a corner fireplace that feels both cozy and luxurious. However, before designer Kelly Rogers stepped in, this feature was hidden behind a desk and so not being utilized to the fullest extent.

Matte Black Fireplace in Master Bedroom

A matte black fireplace was a smart choice for this bedroom, as it makes the space feel clean and modern. Notice how interior designer Kelly Rogers complemented the feature's shape with artwork in square frames.

Private Terrace Has Plenty of Potential

From this corner, one can see just how *spacious* the master bedroom actually is. The suite even comes with double doors that open onto a little terrace, which would be a great spot for enjoying breakfast or date night with a glass of wine.

Bright White Master Bedroom With Patterned Curtains

Once dark and outdated, this master suite is now a *dream* with bright white walls, a chic light fixture and patterned accessories. By moving the bed to the center of the room, designer Kelly Rogers restructured the floor plan and created plenty of spaces for reading, relaxing and of course, sleeping.

Nightstands With Subtle Floral Pattern

Take a closer look at the couple's new nightstands and see that these pieces actually have a floral pattern! Though subtle, the design breaks up all the neutrals and brings even more visual interest to this bedroom.

Wood Armoire Inspires Clever Storage Solutions

While this tall wooden armoire gives the owners a place for their clothes, the piece doesn't make the best use of an unusual corner. With the help of designer Kelly Roger, though, the room's layout will be reimagined and include clever storage solutions.

Patterned Curtains Add Movement to Master Suite

From the built-in bookshelf to the bench at the foot of the bed, every inch of this master suite serves a purpose. The patterned curtains and linens work overtime, too, as they add movement and energy to the room.

Master Suite Ready to Receive New Paint, Lighting

Though two windows, recessed lights and a funky fixture all offer some light, the master suite's neutral walls prevent the space from feeling bright and airy. Luckily, that's nothing a new coat of paint can't solve!

Traditional Wood Bed and Matching Nightstands

While the wood bed and nightstand certainly complement each other, neither piece feels fresh or inspired. That's where designer Kelly Rogers comes in: with her creative eye, she'll outfit this space with furniture worthy of its youthful owners.

Sitting Area With Splash of Purple

This master suite is so spacious that there's even room for a sitting area! Here, two upholstered armchairs and a large ottoman invite the owners to put their feet up and read, while a watercolor painting and a purple throw add a splash of color.

Art Deco Dresser Offers Touch of Texture

Designer Kelly Rogers also replaced the owners' large wooden armoire with something a little more sleek and sophisticated: this Art Deco dresser. While keeping clothes neat and organized, the piece adds texture to the space as well.

Balcony With Bright Orange Area Rug

Those playful patterns and vibrant colors continue out onto the terrace, where a bright orange area rug softens the wood flooring. The space also includes an outdoor table and matching chairs, with a pitcher and two glasses waiting at the ready for guests.
