Flip or Flop Baby Diaries: Staying Fit While Pregnant
It’s Christina El Moussa and I’m back with another installment of my Flip or Flop Baby Diaries. We are still waiting for everything to be delivered and installed for our new baby’s nursery, so in the meantime I thought I would tell you guys how I’ve stayed in shape during my pregnancy. I sat down with my good friend and yoga partner Cara Clark recently to talk about this and I’m sharing some insights and tips here with you, too.
We film Flip or Flop four to five days per week year round. And on top of that we run a real estate business and construction company. I design all the Flip or Flop homes myself – so basically there is always a LOT going on. While we have a fast paced life style and there is always so much going on, I make working out a priority. I aim for five days per week. Working out is my “happy pill”. It helps relieve all my tension and anxiety and just makes me feel great.
When I’m not pregnant, I love to run – but being pregnant I’ve toned down my workouts a bit. Right now I’m loving prenatal yoga. It makes my mind and body feel so great and I sleep so sound the night of yoga. I’m in the process of producing my own prenatal yoga DVD. I’m so excited to share this with everyone in the coming months.
As for pregnancy nutrition, I just truly love to eat healthy so this part is easy for me. Eating bad food makes me feel, well, bad. Healthy eating is part of my lifestyle. I drink lemon water. I read that it does so many great things for your body so I added it to my routine. I don’t eat fried food. Period. I also don’t eat fast food. My biggest weakness is a good Cadillac margarita (or two) at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Javiers. Of course, when I’m not pregnant.
