Chip and Joanna Gaines will be featured in a new Fixer Upper spinoff series.

So the last episode of Fixer Upper's fourth season makes its debut on HGTV this Tuesday. We know, Chip and Jo fans; we feel your pain. What to do until Season 5 kicks in late in 2017? Take heart. We've got some news that may help take the sting out: Fixer Upper has a new spinoff series headed your way this year, and you can catch a sneak peek next week.

The new show titled Fixer Upper: Behind the Design is currently in production, and you can catch a special advance airing on Tuesday, March 28 — after this week’s regular Fixer Upper episode. See all the details in Joanna's Instagram post:

The Basics

In this special companion series to the hit show, Joanna will share detailed insider insights on the design strategies, decorating and staging of the individual home-makeovers featured in the main series. Each half-hour episode will focus on Joanna's design process from one Fixer Upper renovation.

She'll reveal never-before-seen design elements and shows how she, Chip and her design assistants work to meet clients' needs and style preferences while overcoming challenges that pop up along the way.

As seen on Fixer Upper, the main room of the Matsumoto's remodeled home has shiplap walls, wood floors and two sets of french doors that lead out to the back porch. (After #4)

So, do you love Fixer Upper, but sometimes feel left wanting more info on the individual rooms and Joanna's motivating design ideas? Want a deeper dive into the individual projects and spaces? Want to see more of what goes on behind the scenes before those final reveals? Done. Check. Coming your way.

Small Bites

Can't wait for Fixer Upper's new companion series? Check out Joanna's exclusive digital series, Design On Her Mind.  Below is just one sample, but we've got plenty more of them where that came from.

The Sneak Peek

We're not at liberty to divulge too many details but, in the sneak-peek episode, titled (appropriately in Chip Gaines parlance) "The Little Shack on the Prairie", a couple with two young kids is looking for a three-bedroom dream home, but end up with something that's, suffice it to say, anything but dreamy.

We've all seen Joanna and her cohorts pull off some serious makeover magic in previous remodels, but this is one job with some rather extraordinary challenges. Let's just say "total overhaul" is an understatement when it comes to this project. So an in-depth look inside Joanna's design mind should be especially revealing in this case.
