Joanna's Design Tips: Southwestern Style for a Run-Down Ranch House

This was a whole new kind of Fixer Upper renovation: Instead of Chip and Joanna finding a house for their buyers, homeowners Sterling and Casey brought them a home on a beautiful 2,000 acre farm that has been in Sterling's family for four generations. The problem? The home was abandoned for more than a decade, leaving it nearly crumbling and full of unwelcome guests (Read: Opossums, spiders, mice, oh my!)
Almost everything had to be gutted — even the shiplap couldn't be saved — but you won't believe what the finished home looks like now, starting with the rustic ranch exterior:
