Treat Yo' Self! Essentials for an At-Home Spa Day
You deserve a day dedicated to yourself filled with mimosas, manicures and DIY exfoliating scrubs. You just do.

In the wise words of Tom and Donna from "Parks and Recreation", you deserve to “treat yo' self.” While the beloved holiday doesn't roll around until October, we here at HGTV feel like a Treat Yo' Self Day needs to make it on your calendar — STAT. Yes, friends, I'm here to tell you that it’s time to set aside a day for strictly pampering — solo or with your girlfriends.
I’m talking mimosas, fuzzy robes that you must wear all day (those are the spa day rules), binge-watching HGTV and homemade face masks. So, call your girlfriends and the babysitter because it’s time to treat yo' self! Sit back and relax, here’s everything that you need for your at-home spa day.

To set the tone for a day dedicated to yourself, start with mimosas (obviously). You're going to be relaxing all day, so it only makes sense to kick it off with orange juice and bubbly.

Fizzy Bath Bombs

If you're taking the spa day solo, then you'll definitely be soaking in a tub full of bubbles. Make your own bath fizzy bombs to add that extra element of relaxation. Bonus: they also make great gifts!

Pineapple Yogurt Face Mask

AMANDA HEYWOOD
Is there anything more refreshing than pineapple? Combined with yogurt, I'm ready to rub this all over my face, (then maybe eat it). Not only is yogurt a yummy snack but it's great for softening and rejuvenating skin. "Handmade Beauty," a must-have book filled with natural recipes for hair, body and face, has all the ingredients you'll need to make this revitalizing face mask at home.

DIY Exfoliating Scrubs

All you need is some sugar, coconut oil and your favorite essential oils. The result is a yummy-smelling scrub that's great for rejuvenating skin...and a great transition into the next part of your spa day: manis and pedis.

After all the face masks and exfoliating it's mani/pedi time. This is going to involve sitting down for a long time (to ensure your nails dry, of course), so find a comfy spot and a good movie. Also, popcorn. You'll want that, too.
Tip: While it may not sound appealing, dip your fingertips in a bowl of mayonnaise. It softens cuticles, and you most likely have jar somewhere in the fridge.
