8 Drinks You Need to Try Before Summer Ends
There's still time for some serious warm weather imbibing.

It's currently 90 degrees outside, and yet, I can't seem to get my mind off of fall. I'm so ready to stash away my swimsuits and sundresses and welcome back my favorite boots and beanies. That said, I'm not about to let summer fade away without a proper send-off.
So I've decided to toast to the season with these quintessentially "Summer 2016" drinks. These cocktails are all on-trend, make for an ideal Instagram, and, best of all, taste like summer in a glass (or a bottle, or a can).
Cheers!
1. Pineapple Hibiscus Punch

Jason Kisner, Copyright Scripps Networks, 2016
Pineapples are basically the mascot of summer, especially this year, as they've popped up in countless recipes as well as in home decor and fashion. This refreshing cocktail makes the most of this sweet fruit by pairing it with hibiscus tea and plenty of white rum (arguably the summeriest of spirits).

2. Watermelon Margaritas

What's more summery than a margarita? One full of delicious, juicy watermelon, of course. This cocktail brings tequila, watermelon, lime juice and orange juice together for a fruity cocktail that will help you beat the heat.

3. Canned Wine

Yep, you read that right, canned wine has been absolutely everywhere this summer! Not only are these Lila Wine cans adorable (seriously, how good would they look in an artsy Instagram?), they're also portable and perfectly portioned. Now the only question is whether you're in the mood for Rosé, Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.
4. Summer Shandy Punch

Mixing beer with lemonade in the summer is nothing new, but this twist on the classic cocktail includes whiskey and lemon-lime soda to create an even more delectable treat. The best part? You can make it in big batches, so it's ideal for picnics or parties.

5. Hard Seltzer

Seltzer is quickly becoming one of the most popular beverages out there, so it's no surprise that fans have been using the sparkling water as a mixer for cocktails. But recently, brands like Truly Spiked & Sparkling stepped up to create pre-made boozy seltzers in delicious fruity flavors, so you don't have to waste any of those last minutes of summer mixing up drinks.
6. Sangria Ice Pops

Shannon Petrie
Sangria in a glass is so last summer, now it's all about boozy popsicles. They've got all the fruity goodness of traditional Sangria combined with the best aspects of frozen treats.

7. Frozen Mint Julep

In the words of one of my favorite bands, The Punch Brothers, "Heaven's a julep on the porch." And while I don't actually have a porch, I do have a deep love for this cool, minty whiskey drink, especially when it's frozen.

8. Pompel-Spritz

This twist on a classic Aperol Spritz — created by Pamela Wiznitzer at Seamstress in NYC — is made all the more summer-ready thanks to fresh grapefuit juice and sparkling rosé.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Aperol
- 1.5 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- 1.5 oz sparkling rosé
- .5 oz tonic water
Build in a highball glass and garnish with a grapefruit peel.
