In a Front Door Design Rut? We've Got Summer Wreath Inspo You'll Love
Welcome summer with a fresh front door.
Summer officially arrives today, which means it’s time to finish up those last-minute preparations around the house. For me, that looks like finally taking down my spring decor and replacing it with fresh, warm-weather flair. Most recently, I’ve been brainstorming ideas for a new summer wreath. Today, I’m sharing some inspiration I've collected in the process. Take a look, and see what you think.
Say Hello
Lend a touch of whimsy to your front door with a wreath that says, “Hello.” This simple, inexpensive project starts with an object you may already have lying around: a hula-hoop.
Double Hoops
Embroidery hoops are a must for the modern wreath-maker. Change it up a bit by incorporating two hoops in your wreath design.
Taste the Tropics
Play up the warm weather, and go tropical with your wreath, opting for palm leaves and tropical flowers.
Peachy Keen
Peach-colored blooms (faux or real) pair beautifully with the muted gray-green color of eucalyptus leaves.
Big Blooms
For a powerful impact, choose a wreath with a full body and large blooms. Here, eucalyptus leaves create fullness, while large pink peonies offer a pretty punch of color.
Go Faux
Have trouble keeping plants alive? Make this easy faux succulent wreath that requires no green thumb and will last forever.
Aromatic Herbs
Greet guests with the scent of fresh summer herbs, like rosemary and lavender.
Less Is More
Let your wood hoop shine through with a sparse covering of greenery and a small bunch of flowers. The barely-there look feels fresh and current.
Boxwood Beauty
Aiming for a classic, timeless feel? You can’t go wrong with a boxwood wreath.
Under Wraps
Wrap part of your hoop in twine for a natural touch.
Felt Flowers
Felt is a fun way to go faux with your flowers. Craft your own blooms or buy them pre-made.
Fresh-Squeezed
Flowers aren’t the only way to bring color to your wreath — consider vibrant citrus fruits for the summer months. Faux fruits will last you all season long and save for next year, too.
Cool in Copper
Copper pipes and a triangular shape give this unconventional wreath an ultra-trendy look. Swap in flowers or greenery of your choice.
Halfsies
Take a minimalist approach to wreath-making by only filling the bottom half of the wreath. Keep your design and colors simple.
Mod Wire
Try a thin wire for your wreath form for a modern feel. Don’t worry if the wire bends a bit in the crafting process; the imperfections will give your finished product character.
Boho Vibes
Create a bohemian aesthetic at your home’s entry with a peace sign-shaped wreath. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to make.
Styled Hanger
Don’t forget to craft a cutesy hanger for your wreath. Here, burlap and rope ensure this metal-based wreath is hanging in style.
Asymmetrical Edge
Do you like cool, unexpected design? Try an asymmetrical wreath for an automatic touch of edginess.
Mini Pots
Don’t limit yourself to a classic wreath. Fresh takes on the wreath, like this one featuring mini potted plants, will add major interest to your entry.
Monogram It
Another modern take on the classic wreath is the monogram. For this DIY project, a hollowed monogram is filled with living succulents for a natural touch.
