The Votes Are In: This Is Your Favorite Color for Fall
Our Color Vs. Color contest has come to a close. Did your favorite win?

This post is sponsored by Sherwin-Williams®, written by me and owned by HGTV.
Earlier this month, we asked you to take part in a battle of the hues called Color Vs. Color. Three weeks and nearly 10,000 votes later, it's time to declare a winner.
In case you missed our ultimate color showdown, let me catch you up. Inspired by trends in home decor and fashion, my fellow HGTV.com editors and I worked together to choose 12 shades we adore for fall. After that, it was up to you to decide the top color of the season. The results are in, and we’re ready to unveil your favorite hue.
But first, let's take a look back at our color contenders:

There was a little something for everyone in our picks, from versatile neutrals (cocoa powder, slate) to bold accents (cayenne, candy apple). Overall, we tried to pick hues evoking the things we love about fall, from brilliantly colored foliage to warm, comforting foods.
We tallied your votes, and your favorite color of the season is...
Soft Sage

Similar to our spring Color Vs. Color winner — powder blue — soft sage (Sherwin-Williams SW 6456 Slow Green) is a great alternative neutral if white, gray or beige isn't your thing. This delicate green works well with a wide range of decorating styles, wood tones and metal finishes. Take this cottage-style kitchen, for example, where it adds a subtle touch of color without overpowering the space.
