Why Classic Blue + White Chinoiserie Is Here to Stay
This tried-and-true pattern is having a major moment.

Chinoiserie accents have been long considered as timeless, elegant additions to any interior decor. In the past, you've seen this style celebrated through ornate china sets and paired vases placed strategically on the opposite end of a mantel.
Today? The tried-and-true trend of white with blue is having a major, major moment — and I think we need to talk about it. This Chinoiserie renaissance is brought to us by the resurgence of an elegant, understated classic: the ginger jar.

Oh, and coastal, southern and contemporary, too! Chinoiserie accents are widespread and work their wonderful, decorative magic in just about any style out there. White-and-blue jars harmonize with leopard-print pillows and hot-pink credenzas just as easily as they do with tufted ivory chesterfield sofas.
Power in Numbers

Symmetry is beautiful, but asymmetry is interesting. For this reason, designers are opting to group ginger jars and Chinoiserie-inspired vases together in large groups. The result? A space that spells “effortlessly stylish” and, essentially, “I woke up like this.”
A Vibrant Neutral

The reason I love this ginger jar moment? It doesn’t matter what color your space is — this trend will work for you. The crisp, white and sky blue serves your space as a colorful neutral and can complement any color scheme imaginable. Rust orange? Brown? Black? Yes, to all. This color combination works big time.

The common detailed Chinoiserie pattern translates from porcelain onto textiles to create stunning, textured throw pillows, furniture upholstery and dreamy drapery alike. Featuring small doses of the artful print sparingly throughout a space will add interest and ultimately lend a stylish final product.
