5 Trends From New York Fashion Week You Need to Know About

Kanye West isn't annoying anyone today (yet!), Anna Wintour is back at Vogue, models are eating donuts again, and Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are back home in Cali. You know what that means? Yet another New York Fashion Week has come to a close.

We've spent hours sifting through all of the photos and watching far too many Snapchat live streams in order to bring you the top five design trends that we think will make their way straight from the runway into your living rooms.
FRINGE

The biggest trend we noticed during NYFW was fringe. In fact, it was difficult to find a skirt, jacket or handbag that wasn't covered in fringe. If you want to jump on the bandwagon, try finding a textured throw or a pillow with some fringe detail. Vintage rugs often have longer fringed edges and work with a variety of decorating styles. Macrame wall hangings even loosely embrace the fringe trend, especially the ones that are done in a looser style.

TIE-DYE

If you're still loving the shibori tie-dye trend, then you're in luck because tie-dye looks were all over the runway for spring 2016. You can easily add some fun tie-dye touches with dyed napkins or tablecloths. And tablecloths aren't just for dining room tables! Try draping one over a console or even your coffee table to quickly update your look.

STRIPES

While stripes were all over the runway, we don’t necessarily consider this one a new trend, as it never truly goes away. But our prediction is that you can expect to see even more stripes in home decor over the next six months. To give this classic pattern a whirl, try introducing some striped accessories into your space, like boxes or trinket catchalls for your coffee table or dresser top. This striped shower curtain would also make a bold statement in your bath.

PATTERN EXPLOSION

Many designers went absolutely pattern bonkers for spring 2016 by mixing colors, textures and prints in sometimes seemingly haphazard ways. But the non-matchy-matchy mix was also refreshing and represents a fun nod to the boho aesthetic. Try mixing some colorfully patterned throw pillows for an easy way to try this trend out.
