Shannon Lazic
Gold star wallpaper on the ceiling—brilliant!

She and partner Shannon Lazic chose cheery touches like chairs in shades that match the rug, rainbow-color garlands and children’s books displayed on ledges.

Inspired by the view of the yard, these Roswell, GA, homeowners wanted natural elements that would stand up to their little guys. Designer Yvonne McFadden delivered with walnut built-ins, a wool rug layered with a cowhide and a stool made from a carved tree trunk. A funky light fabs things up. “The kids call it the soccer ball!” McFadden says.

Retro Retreat

Joni Lay
Oooh, that blue! It’s Inspiring Hue by Valspar.
“Vintage pieces added character and style to my girls’ space,” says Atlanta-based blogger Joni Lay. She put in old-school-cool desk chairs and a dresser (for art and party supplies), a mod light and a Star Wars poster (a family fave). Just as smile-inducing: doodle-y wallpaper and rows of acrylic jars filled with pom-poms, colorful wood craft sticks and more.
