Before and After: A Dingy TV Cart Gets a Glam New Look
See how HGTV Magazine updated this cheap, decades-old piece.

Before

Jeff McNamara; shot on location at Furniture on Consignment II, Westport, CT
There’s nothing glam about this TV cart. You can’t unsee fake wood this depressing. Ugly plastic wheels like these haven't been used in ages. It's so scratched up it looks like a cat got its claws on the shelf.
After

Susan Pittard/Studio D; Styling by Karin Olsen; Crafting by Thomas Eberharter
It’s a luxe, easy-to-move nightstand. Behold, the magic of gold leaf! Gilded in the shiny material and fitted with new acrylic shelves and transparent wheels, the cart is transformed into a beautiful bedside table. And set against Tiffany blue wallpaper, it looks even more chic.
Wallpaper: The wallpaper is no longer available, but you can still find the pattern, Floral Circle Mix by Amy Reber, on minted.com. It's available on fabric, which you can purchase by the yard, and on curtains, pillows and lampshades.
