Ring These Rosies: Make a Rosebud Circlet
If you make the circlet the day before, give the roses a long drink of water and seal each bud well with stem tape after you have wired it. Water the ivy too, as its stem won't be sealed with stem tape. The circlet should stay fresh for up to 24 hours if misted with water.
Flowers and Foliage
4 small pink spray roses, in bud and semi-open
1–2 trailing ivy stems
Mini carnations offer a good alternative to roses for this design.

Prepare the Rosebud Stems
Trim each rosebud stem to about 1 inch. Press rose wire through the stem of each rosebud (these buds are small enough not to need a thick wire inserted up through the center of the stem). Press one end of the wire straight down so it aligns with the stem.
Wrap the other end of wire around the straight wire and short stem. Cover the stem and wires with a length of stem tape so they are completely sealed.
Make the Frame
To make the frame for the circlet, first measure the wearer's head with a length of string.
Arrange several pieces of 22 gauge wire in a line so they reach the length of the string, in total, and slightly overlap each other. Incorporate a little extra length for small hooks to be made at either end.
Cover the overlapping wires with stem tape.
Seal the ends and trim off any excess tape.
Attach the Rosebuds to the Frame
Make a small hook at either end of the taped wire frame.
Place a wired, taped rosebud at one end of the frame and wind stem tape around the wired end; the stem must remain free to be angled correctly, so it should not be attached to the frame. Bind all the wired rosebuds to the frame in the same way. Try to keep the sequence of closed and semi-open buds random as you attach them to the wire frame to create a loose arrangement of blooms.
Assemble the Circle
Interlock the wire hooks and press them together to secure them.
Add the Ivy and Complete the Circlet
Interweave a length of trailing ivy loosely between the rosebuds.
Mist the rosebuds and ivy regularly, particularly if it is hot, to keep them as fresh as possible until the circlet is used. You can also cover the circlet loosely with damp tissue to retain its freshness for longer.
