Kids' Craft: Easy Doily Treat Cups

H. Camille Smith

Materials Needed:
- 6" paper doilies (2 for each cup)
- white school glue
- chip brush
- wired ribbon (to create handles)
- scissors
- muffin tin
- spice containers or small bottles
- treats to fill cups: cookies, cupcakes, candy or small toys
Apply Glue
Squeeze glue onto the doily's solid center (Image 1). Using a chip brush, spread the glue evenly out to the doily's edge (Image 2).

Glue Doilies Together
Line up the edges then place a second doily on top and press together (Image 1). If adding a ribbon handle, cut a piece of wired ribbon approximately 18 to 20 inches long to leave room for tying a bow. Center then sandwich the ribbon between the two doilies (Image 2).

Form Treat Cups
To create cup shape, press glued doilies into a muffin tin and weight them with a heavy object that will fit into the tin, such as a juice glass or small food or spice container (Image 1). Allow glue to dry for at least three hours then remove cups, fill with treats and tie bows (Images 2 and 3).
