Keep your options open with a reversible fireplace cover. Start by cutting a piece of thin plywood to the dimensions of your fireplace opening. On one side, line the plywood with your choice of removable wallpaper. On the other, paint the plywood with chalkboard paint and once dry, draw a picturesque fire to instantly create a feeling of warmth.
