Asian Design

Asian, or "Zen" design, typically features elements from Japan, China, Bali, Vietnam and Thailand. Often seen in bathrooms, bedrooms and garden spaces, Asian design places emphasis on harmony and nature through open floor plans and exposed architectural components.

Asian design typically features neutral base colors (black, white and natural wood) with bright accents in red, blue or green. Natural textures such as silk, cotton and bamboo are often used in Asian design, and furniture tends toward simple, clean lines (often with a hand-crafted look) in laquered, hand-painted or raw wood finishes.

Asian design often features brightly colored accessories, handcrafts (carved wood, hammered teapots), statues (Buddhas, Tang Horses, Foo Dogs,) tatami mats and Shoji screens.
