How to Create an All-Natural Toy + Playset Cleaner
Keep outdoor playsets and toys in tip-top shape after harsh weather with this easy, all-natural cleaning method.
- 16 oz. spray bottle
- 6 oz. warm water
- 6 oz. distilled white vinegar
- 4-6 drops lemon essential oil
- old, clean rags
- broom or shop vacuum
- garden hose (with high-pressure spray nozzle)
- pressure washer (optional)
Clean out the playset with a stiff broom or shop vacuum.
Wash It Down
Using a high-pressure spray nozzle on your garden hose, remove any caked-on dirt and dust from the playset's surfaces. If there are layers of mildew and dirt, consider using a pressure washer. (If the playset is wood, be careful with the water pressure, as soft woods can gouge easily.)
How to Deep Clean Outdoor Playset
Step 2- Wash it Down Use a high-pressure spray nozzle on your garden hose to get any caked-on dirt and dust off the playset’s surfaces. If there are layers of mildew and dirt, consider using a pressure washer with a green or gray nozzle. CAUTION- If the playset is wood, be careful with the water pressure, as soft woods can gouge easily. So, avoid the red or yellow nozzle.
Combine one part water and one part distilled white vinegar into a clean spray bottle.
Add Essential Oil
Add four to six drops of lemon essential oil for a nice fragrance and added cleaning power.
Spray + Wipe
Spray the playset surfaces with your homemade cleaning mixture, then wipe down with a soft rag. Watch your kids' beloved backyard playspace come back to life from a grueling winter.
