Wanda Colón honed her skills as an actor and designer in the world of theater, where she starred in and was the set designer for several productions in New York and Philadelphia. At a young age she was given the opportunity to travel to Europe, where she studied theater at Oxford University. While in England, she landed the roles of Eliza in Pygmalion and Eleanor in Sense and Sensibility. She also has a bachelor of arts degree in theater and fine arts.
Upon her return to Philadelphia, she became the host of a magazine talk show and appeared in several films including M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable and Steve Buscemi's Animal Factory. During this time Wanda also co-owned the popular Firehouse Restaurant, a real firehouse she designed and helped convert into one of Reading's most popular eateries.
Her next move was to Los Angeles to pursue her true passions: writing and designing. She just sold her first screenplay and is currently in negotiations to produce her second one. She has also written a sitcom pilot. Her sense of design landed her a job with the prestigious design firm Interior Motives. After working for Interior Motives for several years, she and a partner started their own business, The Piper Decorative Artisans.
