“You’re surrounded by all this warm imagery, warm colors and warm metals,” says Vern, whose plan for the master bathroom had everything to do with countering the effects of Chicago’s cold and blustery winters. Floors clad in warm stone tile and walls clad in both linear stone and glass mosaic tile create an inviting envelope. An overflowing bath and glass-enclosed shower with oversized rain-shower head and hand shower are among the room’s luxury features.
