Prior to his acclaim on NBC/Bravo's Emmy Award-winning Queer Eye for the Straight Guy as the interior design specialist for the Fab Five, Thom Filicia garnered praise through his own interior design company in New York City, Thom Filicia, Inc. (TFI). Since 1998 TFI has specialized in residential, commercial and hospitality projects, with a range of high-profile clients in the fashion, entertainment, media, real estate development and finance industries. Honored as one of House Beautiful's Top 100 American Designers and House & Garden's Top 50 Tastemakers for 2006, Thom and TFI worked on the redesign of the W Hotel in Westwood, Los Angeles, and the interior design of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's primary residence in New York City. Thom and TFI had the honor of designing the VIP Suite for the United States Pavilion at the 2005 World's Fair in Aichi, Japan.

In addition to his role on Queer Eye, Thom was also honored with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Art Direction for a Variety or Music Program. In 2004 he designed the tents for Olympus' Fashion Week in New York City and has designed numerous tables at Elle Decor's "Dining by Design" DIFFA Event. Other highlights include a complete housing renovation for an Oprah viewer, windows for the New York auction house Christie's, two Kips Bay Designer Show Houses and the House & Garden Hampton's Showhouse. Thom was also featured in the national television campaigns for Pier 1 Imports and American Express.

Thom studied Interior Design at Syracuse University's School of Art and Design. Early on, he focused his creativity on high-end interiors, working at the most venerable firms in New York City. Having established a strong classical foundation, he's now exercising his personal aesthetic that is driven by a unique and innovative vision of classic simplicity.
