Host David Tarrant begins his journey in the picturesque capital city of Victoria and each day he ventures to a new location in search of Southern Vancouver Island's rare and endangered native blooms. He begins at Canada's most popular garden, Butchart Gardens. April is prime viewing time, when the results of the fall plantings reach their peak. From there Tarrant explores the countryside in search of native wildflowers and learns about the berries, herbs and plants that have been a food-source and central to culture for thousands of years.
