Decorating Cents: Home for the Holidays

Host Joan Steffend and designers Shayne Barsness and Kelli Kaufer meet the Hunt family, who is about to experience their first Christmas apart when father and husband Tim leaves for an eighteen month tour of Afghanistan. Inspired by this story, they give the Hunt's living and dining rooms special holiday makeovers, which embrace both tradition and elegance. Then, Joan joins designers Richard Anderson and Todd Pinzuti in meeting the Schnacky family, whose six-year-old son, Tyler, has already endured four open-heart surgeries. They makeover the Schnacky's living and dining rooms as, respectively, a child's Victorian carnival Christmas and a north woods retreat infused with holiday glamour, all in time for the Schnacky's first Christmas together at home.
