Broderie Perse

Meet a group of women dedicated to preserving the American quilt heritage of the senior generation of 20th century quilters. The group advises quilt collectors catalog quilt memories into Boxes Under the Bed. Afterward, host Alex Anderson is joined by quilt artist Judy Severson who explains her connection to Boxes Under the Bed. Severson defines the term 'Broderie Perse' and tells some of the 18th century history. Severson demonstrates an easier, more modern method and teaches what sorts of floral fabrics to use, how to lay them out, and ways to quilt the finished top.
